Spencer County Democratic Party Welcomes Dr. Jennifer McCormick at JFK Dinner & Silent Auction on Apr. 23 

The Spencer County Democratic Party is pleased to welcome Dr. Jennifer McCormick as the featured speakers at the annual Spencer County JFK Dinner and Silent Auction on Sunday, April 23rd at the Spencer County Youth & Community Center in Chrisney.  Newly elected 8th District Chair, Dave Crooks, and local candidates will also be in attendance.

Doors will open at 11:30 AM CDT with meal service starting at 12:30 PM CDT and carry-out service available.  There will also be a silent auction and attendance door prizes.  Tickets are $15 (free for students and children) and can be purchased in advance online at or by calling (812) 660-9130.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. 

“We invite all Democratic Party supporters to join us for this annual afternoon of great food and fellowship,” said Spencer County Democratic Party Chairman, Dan Wilkinson.  “We are especially excited to have Dr. Jennifer McCormick, who is considering a run for Indiana governor, as our guest and featured speaker for the event.  Her educational experience and commitment to children should be of particular interest to Spencer County residents,” Wilkinson said. 

Dr. Jennifer McCormick has over 25 years of experience in education as a former teacher, principal, superintendent, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction.  After her four year term as Indiana’s last-elected State Superintendent, she went on to be named Chairman of the Board for Gibraltar Design and is the CEO of Fierce Up! Leadership, which provide her further opportunity to partner with schools.  She has served on numerous boards throughout her professional tenure and currently is on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Coalition for Public Education.  Dr. McCormick also continues to proudly provide a voice for students, educators, parents and communities. Recently she announced her interest in a highly anticipated run for Governor in 2024. Jennifer is married to Trent, a public school superintendent and is a proud military mother of Cael. Her message is simple: Kids First. Always.
