Spencer County Democrats Endorse Marsili for Congress
The Spencer County Democratic Party is pleased to announce our endorsement of E. Thomasina Marsili in the race for 8th District United States Representative. The endorsement follows a vote by the Central Committee consisting of all precinct committee chairs and their vice-chairs.
Thomasina grew up in northern Spencer County and graduated from Heritage Hills High School in 1994. When she was sixteen she built trails at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and earned a spot in the movie A League of Their Own that was filmed nearby in Evansville and Huntingburg. She has been an active, hard-working campaigner and has already attended numerous parades, meetings and events here in Spencer County.
In addition to her strong Spencer County connections, Thomasina is highly qualified for the office she seeks. Thomasina saw early success in her two decades of managing multi-million dollar corporations, earning the title of hotel general manager by age 20. Thomasina is an educator, small business owner, nationally registered EMT, certified life coach, and motivational speaker. It is her passion to bring recognition to the inequities within our rural areas and to give voice to the voiceless. Thomasina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Marian University and is a member of Psi Chi and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies.
Most importantly, we extend our endorsement because Thomasina has a vision for the future. Thomasina fights for all Hoosiers.
- She will bring higher paying jobs to the district through improving access to high quality education and apprenticeships, diversifying economic development efforts, and securing a living wage.
- Thomasina will improve public education by increasing teacher salaries, expanding education funding to specifically assist low income and rural areas, stopping the privatization of schools and expanding student loan forgiveness programs for public school educators.
- Thomasina will fight so that every Hoosier has healthcare.
These are Democratic values, American values, and Spencer County values. For all these reasons, we proudly endorse this member of our extended Spencer County family and urge all Spencer County Democrats to vote for E. Thomasina Marsili in the upcoming Primary Election.
